In the small town of Fillmore, California, tucked away on a dirt road, is an old deserted farmhouse…

Built in 1890, the house was the subject of a major land dispute, at the time, between the local Native Americans, and the family who had built the house, the Samuels; a Swedish immigrant family: a husband, wife and their 5 year-old son.

The Native Americans claimed it was rightfully their land and the site of an ancient burial ground, but the Samuels were stubborn; refusing to give the land back; believing they had purchased the land legally from the U.S. government…

Legend has it, on April 20, 1890; on what would have been their 21st day of living in the house, a preacher had gone to check in on the Samuels, since no one had seen them in days, only to discover: their horses in the corral, a fire burning in the hearth; all their belongings left behind, as if the family had stepped out for just a moment; ready to return at any time… but they never did…

The family had seemly vanished off the face of the earth.

Rumors spread; urban legends were born… Some locals believed the Samuels had been massacred by the Native Americans in retaliation; burying them somewhere on the property…but others claimed differently… The family’s disappearance was of a paranormal; demonic nature…

Over the next 124 years, only two other families attempted to live in the house; Carolyn and Bob Warner and their two young children in 1977; and Lisa Thompson, a single mother, and her nine year old-son in 2012… All met with tragedy … Children went mute, mysterious fatal accidents occurred… Both families left less than 21 days after moving in; both left, mysteriously, in the middle of the night; leaving behind all their belongings, yet eerily taking the time to cover all the mirrors in the house, then subsequently, refusing to talk to anyone about what happened to them while living in the house…

Ever since, the house has lay vacant, with many people believing the old Native American lore that the land it sits on is a vortex; a portal to the underworld; the devil’s playground…

Recently, three filmmakers embarked on a paranormal challenge to investigate the house, and attempt to film the supernatural phenomena which presumably occur…

but nothing prepared them for the evil that resides within the house…

There are some places so dark, so evil, where no human- no living thing- should dwell…
